Sugar Pills 02:55
In school, I was told I need to go to college You don’t need a goldmine Just trust me, you’ll be fine Find yourself a nice girl Get her flowers, give her the world She’ll be your soulmate Just trust me, you’ll be fine But to be content with life You will need, a kid and a wife Just stick to this advice Just trust me, you’ll be fine You will be at ease You’ll get through life From start to finish I can be your guide You’re a child ‘til high school Then it’s time to grow up Make a life for yourself And good things start to throw up It’s time for me to take control Shoppin' with an open mind A healthy body means a healthy soul Just trust me, you’ll be fine Helping others day in n day out Give what I can to those that shout Take us off the streetside Just trust me, you’ll be fine Kids growing up every day It’s not gonna be the same But stick to this advice Just trust me you’ll be fine You will be happy I’m on your side From start to finish I can be your guide You’re a child ‘til high school Then it’s time to grow up Make a life for yourself And good things start to show up Everyone's enjoying them I’m waiting for the kick still Read along the back and I realize that they’re sugar pills I can’t believe my eyes Should’ve never surmised My life is going nowhere Should I really be surprised I hear it all too loud now, No safe, just sound.

Trains 03:35
Wake up each day Hit by a train Follow the railways That’s what they say Dragging along Day after day Keep moving forward That's how it stays I used to strive Now I maintain Just getting through These long weekdays Breaking the train Would help a lot A calming thought But I can’t stop The bags below my eyes More pressing every five I move back one step to strive But it’s harder than you think to restore life This week seemed longer than the last Time’s never fast, but in the past A passenger fogs up the glass The conductor claims that he’s steadfast I used to strive Now I maintain Just getting through These long weekdays Breaking the train Would help a lot A calming thought But I can’t stop A calming thought but I can’t stop

It kept me up tonight, Or is it all the blue light, Flying colors, what a sight, Not quite, Wallow in the white While we wonder about life Our brains, they are grey So we stay and pray the light’s okay Wallow in the white While we wonder about life Our brains, they are grey So we stay and pray the sky’s alright Is there a radiant glow Is there a gradient flow Do they know of the sentience down below Mountains with radiant glow Rivers with gradient flow Do they know of the sentience down below There is no color theory or lines of symmetry It’s only black when you’re blind, but it’s white in their eyes That’s what you’ll find So they’ll wallow in the white While we wonder about life Our brains, they are grey So we stay and pray the light’s okay Wallow in the white While we wonder about life Our brains, they are grey So we stay and pray the sky’s alright Is there a radiant glow Is there a gradient flow Do they know of the sentience down below Mountains with radiant glow Rivers with gradient flow Do they know of the sentience down below Wallow in the white While we wonder about life Our brains, they are grey So we stay and pray the light’s okay Wallow in the white While we wonder about life Our brains, they are grey So we stay and let the chips fall where they may.

Assimilate 03:43
Let the chips fall where they may Let the trees sway, let nature have its way It’s hard to go against the grain A man sits there, there he stays Some hate change, they want everything to stay the same But that’s life, you can’t abstain from playing the game I don’t like it but I have to abide by it Acquaint new friends Then I pretend that I like them I will follow all their trends, So I’m not lonely in the end A carbon copy, I’ll be rendered When the end goal is to be remembered To not be seen as an outlander I won’t deny the urge to pander There’s little use in being clever When it’s better being late than severed I don’t like it but we have to abide by it, Acquaint new friends, Then pretend we like them, On each other, we will come to depend, So we’re not lonely in the end, What’s the point of assimilation, If we’re living in a simulation, All these useless conversations, That still give us a warm sensation, Living life just for reactions, Spilling lies just to redact them, Hide our true colors just to blend, So we’re not lonely in the end.

about

Starting as a group of 3 friends, from Spring Hill, TN, Adam, Camden, and Carson got together and created the band that was known at the time as Deviation. They began working on the first song "Trains" when brothers Dylan and Ethan joined. All 5 then began full production of their debut EP, "What You'll Find". The EP consists of a central theme of growing up and learning to accept but to still live to question. About midway through the EP's development, Deviation had a complete brand overhaul, changing their name to Gradient and really started to attempt to make something that they were proud of. "What You'll Find" stood as a daunting task, as it was everyone's first step into collaborative music, alongside the fact that it stood as a concept EP as it follows a story from start to finish. Nonetheless, the 5 managed to pull it off, and with the help from some very talented individuals, made something that they could all call a complete and enjoyable experience.

Breaking away from the formality for a bit, we're all very happy to have something that we can call ours. All of us hold music dear to our hearts, be it through family or just as a device to help us through tough times. We all poured our heart and soul into this EP, and we really hope that anyone who listens to it can find some meaning out of it, or even just get a chorus or verse stuck in their head for an hour or two. We are super excited to see where we can go from here and what our style will evolve into as time goes on and as we experience more and more in life. Thank you all so much for taking the time out of your day to read this, and we all really hope you enjoy the EP. <3
